That JEP is to bookmark chatrooms, not to bookmark web pages.

IMO the most useful feature for Konqueror (and probably very easy to implement), is support for XMPP uris. In this way people can click on uris like xmpp:kde@conference.kdetalk.net?join to open that chatroom in their Jabber client (so there should be an option to set default Jabber client).

A good Voice over IP (VoIP) client is Open Wango:

this sounds nice. *really* nice. simple, powerful integration... google seems to be thinking along the same lines with gmail and google talk and so on, but they're not as kde-friendly as I'd like. :)

imagine having your addressbook stored in your jabber account, so that you can check it from anywhere - er, like gmail's addressbook... but with more information because it could round up all your contacts from kde without you having to manually copy the info. or being able to invite friends to play games over jabber and stop the darn MSN-users sneering at you for not being able to play games :)

I would like a library in KDE because I find that Kopete depends too much on libiris developement.

We need a library which allows to send easily xml packets to a jabber server to easily support the numerous ideas you exposed above.

I sure would love to see more Jabber integration into KDE 4. I've just finished switching all my important contacts to Jabber a couple of weeks ago so it is my only IM protocol. And thanks for working on Jabber support in Kopete.

Have you seen that video about Vista Collaboration:

The narator starts by explainging basic stuff and then add up another basic brick, and then another one, and so on...
At the end, it results in a must have technology.

It's a very interesting and user friendly technology they will have.

From what you tell us, it seems Free Softwares and KDE can have an equivalent of that technology, by using WMPP.

Isn't it?
If you have time to watch that video, can you comment on it?
And what about compatibility with other Operating Systems?

With your post, you made me interested in Jabber, it's a very nice technology.
Single Authentication on Websites seems especialy good, but if only Konqueror (and perhapse Firefox too) have this feature, will Webmasters bother to make theire wesites compatible?
I fear there will be not enought compatible websites to make that thing usable.
