Same problem here, i try to do some profiling, but i can't really figure out what function uses most time

I don't get it: how were we supposed to figure out which functions are the bottlenecks ("One can quickly identify two main consuming task:")? I've stared at the callchart for a while, but I simply can't see why you picked _those_ particular functions and not some other?

Great work. Every speedup of KDE4 is very welcome for me as a user. :) (I am also having opened many windows in a session. Especially text editor windows.)

Could you do a profiling on kde4 konsole resizing, too? I cannot believe that this slowness only comes from bad nvidia drivers. Other windows are so much faster to resize.

one note: it's better to do `kquitapp plasma` rather than Ctrl+C in the konsole as some Valgrind tools don't like to be interupted like this and want to finish out cleanly, and you'll also get the shutdown sequence of Plasma which can be important depending on what you are profiling for.

second, i really appreciate the patches, but next time please send them to the project list or pass them by someone on #plasma-devel on irc. i say this because some of your patches are incorrect (e.g. the pager patches). i'll go back and fix them so you don't have to worry, but yes... always nice to do that ....

Great, valgrind sounds very useful and it looks like the improvements will help a lot.

Dominic, right-click on a blank part of the task manager and click "task manager settings". Then check the box that says "Only show tasks from the current desktop".
